Jenni- I think having so much time during the application process can set students up for major success. Getting feedback in a group setting as well can help students pickup on information they may have been missing!

I wonder how else this can be geared down towards a Kindergarten level. To me it still seems a bit hard?I agree, I think assessments can be such a great guide to where students are falling short of understanding instruction.
That is a great question, Rachel! I wonder if you could pull the SPECS log up on your Promethean board and work on it together as a class? That way all students can at least start out at the same level and you can track together to see who follows and who ends up falling behind!
I think also bringing a picture along with their learning will give them a deeper level of understanding.
I think providing many opportunities for students to understand these words and let it sink in is exactly what is needed! I’m excited to see how this will improve some understanding throughout our teaching.
I love that you use your “thinking cap”. I need to integrate that into my lessons!
I agree, my thinking while using this skill made connections that I wouldn’t have been able to make without fostering the knowledge during the construction of the tool.
